The annual fest of Symbiosis Institute of Technology saw students showcase their talent in myriad events like debate, photography and short filmmaking
The sound and echoes of Reverb 2013, the annual fest of Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT), was a vibrating experience for all students gathered at the college's Lavale campus.
The event turned out to be a fiesta and left an everlasting impression on all. This year's theme was Indian cinema's centenary year and recognising and honouring the film industry's influences.
The DNA-sponsored event, which began on February 15, saw the release of a video portraying the motif of Indian cinema and the fest's techno-culture extravaganza.
SIT director TP Singh said, "The platform showcased the students' creative talent and technical knowledge, imbibing in them a sense of competition, planning, organising skills and team work."
This year, the most-awaited event was the Battle of the Bands, which saw alternate rock bands perform in the name of diversity. The first band was Paradigm Shift, which gave an electrifying performance, and was followed by the Midival Punditz and Zygnema.
The first day of the three-day festival started with Pronite, which provided a great platform for all the amateur DJs with a passion for music to showcase their talent. The students were assured of an insane time with the crowd singing and dancing to their tunes.
The fashion show gave a platform to students to show their true fashion sense. The marquee events, debate, photography and short filmmaking, provided great opportunity for budding talents to showcase their skills.
The other events like treasure hunt, quiz, mock stock, poker, Lan gaming, gully cricket, street plays, guitar wars, Robotrix (workshop on robotics) kept the students engaged during the three days.
As part of the social initiatives taken up by Reverb, this time the organising committee donated pulses and food items to city-based old-age home Niwara.
