Bangalore to witness mega communication carnival today

Bangalore, Jan 24: The city will witness the crème de la crème of communication industry trickling down to Symbiosis School of Media & Communication - Bengaluru (SSMC - B) for its cutting-edge seminar, CQ'13, on Thursday. Spearheaded by chief guest Dr Dileep Padgaonkar, celebrated journalist and opinion leader, CQ'13 will offer enough food for thought with several insightful topics of discussion during the day.

Nupur Basu (independent journalist and filmmaker), Aruna C Newton (Vice President, Infosys Technologies), Srividya Varchaswi (faculty, Art of Living), Asha S (Founder and CEO, Fresco Social) and K Giriprakash (chief of bureau, Hindu Business Line) will be present at the discussion on "The thin line between sensuality and vulgarity in visual communication".The discussion will be moderated by Sushmita M Vishwanthan (Director, Marketing & Communication, IISE, Bengaluru).

Another hot topic for the day is: "Is Cross-channel marketing the current trend to engage your content and your consumers?" will be talked at length by Suresh Babu (Founder, CEO WMA India), Praseed Prasad (National Director - Digital Trading at GroupM), Deviah MA (Chief Operating Officer, Spry Social Media), K Vaitheeswaran (CEO, and Sam Panchamukhi (National Creative Director, Wizcraft).

"Communication Soup for CyberGens- Section 66A of Information Technology Act" will be discussed and decoded by a panel comprising Prof. Tabrez Ahmad (Director, Alliance College of Law), James Arun (advocate, General Counsel), Naavi (Founder and author of Premier Cyber Law information portal in India) and MB Jayaram (Founder and Chairman of Public Relations Council of India).

On a more mainstream note, the Indian film industry will be discussed over the topic, "Is film making an Art, Craft or Box Office?" by intellectuals like Padmaja Shaw (HOD, Dept of Mass Communication), Narahari Rao (Director, Bengaluru International Film Festival), Prakash Belawadi (National Award-winning filmmaker & noted theatre person), Jeevan Pathare (HOD, Photography and Cinematography at National Institute of Creative Communication) and N Manu Chakravarthy (film critic).

The penultimate topic of discussion is: "Unraveling the world of Images and Brands in an IMC perspective" and it will be headed by Prof. Alan D'Souza (Director Shanti School of Business, Ahmedabad). The chief speakers will be Prof. Atul Tandon (entrepreneur, author and adviser, IMC Expert), Sunitha Sreenivasan (Director, Merchandizing and Buying, and Dr Vikram Venkateswaran (Healthcare & Life Sciences Marketing, IBM Global Business Services).
