Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar Conferred with 'Jivan Sadhana Puraskar' by SPPU Prof. (Dr.) S. B. Mujumdar, Founder and President, Symbiosis and Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University) has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Jivan Sadhana Puraskar’ by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SSPU) in recognition of his valuable contributions in the field of education for decades.
Symbiosis International (Deemed University) had the honour of hosting Mr. Rajmohan Gandhi, renowned historian, journalist, and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, for an enlightening session with students and faculty. During his visit, Mr. Gandhi engaged in thought-provoking discussions on leadership, His address inspired students to embrace ethical leadership, civic responsibility and the power of dialogue in nation-building.

Symbiosis Society’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum and Memorial, Pune, organised an event to mark International Women’s Day on 8 th March, 2025, for which IPS Officer Anchal Dalal was invited as the chief guest.
The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, has set up the ‘Ask AI Holobox’ at the Symbiosis Society’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum for one month. This interactive AI-driven hologram offers an opportunity for students and faculty to engage with a lifelike projection of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and ask questions about the Constitution of India, offering an exceptional educational experience.
Symbiosis celebrated "Sanskrutik Mahotsav 2025" from January 22nd to 24th at the Symbiosis Society’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum & Memorial Campus, Senapati Bapat Road, Pune. This year’s Sanskrutik Mahotsav was dedicated to the legendary Raj Kapoor, marking his centenary birth anniversary. His grandsons, Mr. Arman Jain and Mr. Adar Jain, attended the event. Ms. Bhagyashree Limaye, a proud Symbiosis alumna, was also felicitated during the event.

Dr. S.B. Mujumdar is the Founder and President of Symbiosis – a multi-national, multi-lingual and multidisciplinary educational complex of repute. A distinguished academician and educationist, he is also the Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
Dr. Mujumdar was born on 31st July 1935 at Gadhinglaj, a Taluka in Kolhapur District in Maharashtra. He had his school education at Gadhinglaj and college education at Kolhapur and Pune. In his Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in Botany, he stood first class first with distinction in Pune University. He obtained his Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Microbiology from Pune University.
He joined Fergusson College, Pune as Professor and Head of Department in Botany which position he held for 20 years. He was a recognized post graduate teacher and a guide for Ph.D. students. He was a member of the Pune University's Executive Council, the Senate, Academic Council (for 14 years) and Chairman of the Board of Studies in Botany (for 9 years). He was also I.C.C.R's Foreign Academic Advisor in Pune University (for 7 years). He has published over 50 original research articles in several national and international scientific journals. He has authored several books on Life Sciences and has contributed over 200 articles on Science, Education and Youth Development. He has also been the Chairman of the Educational Wing of FICCI in 2005-2006.
