Symbiosis Centre of Health Care (SCHC) was established in 1997, with the mission of addressing the healthcare needs, primarily of the students & staff of Symbiosis, envisioning a state of 'Positive Health' in them. It is the "In-house Health Care Unit" of Symbiosis which provides preventive, promotive and curative health care services. The healthcare services are rendered to students & staff through standardized healthcare setups and quality NABL accredited lab services.
The SCHC collaborates closely with campus community to provide a comprehensive health services, promotion and prevention effort that cares for the physical and mental health of Symbiosis students, striving for excellence in student services and to support and sustain a healthy campus community. With a team of qualified healthcare professionals, the SCHC has implemented a unique 'Health Insurance Program' for staff & students and has utilized Information Technology in healthcare & maintenance of Electronic Health Records (EHR), thereby achieving the status of a 'paperless' office The SCHC also has the state of art recreation and wellness facility on campus. We are committed to empower and inspire students and staff members to choose a healthy life style. Fitness professionals strive to offer recreation and wellness services that encourage healthy and active lifestyle to fulfill its mission of enhancing the culture of wellness on campus. The SCHC has also forayed into distance education with a view to capacity building to address the dearth of manpower in healthcare sector. Team of subject experts developed a number of need based, unique, innovative & career based distance learning programs pertinent to healthcare industry. Our mission is providing learning opportunity to healthcare professionals with flexibility, ease of convenience anywhere, anytime keeping distance education pedagogy in mind.
Symbiosis University Hospital and Research Centre ( SUHRC), a 216 bedded hospital is getting ready to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2019. The hospital is located on the SIU campus at the foothills. It predominantly focus on academics and research supporting the programmes conducted under the Faculty of Health and Biological Sciences and will also support the research centres like Stem cell research , Medical Image Analysis, Nanoscience and Nano technology. The hospital will have state of the art equipment and will be a tertiary care hospital with departments of various specialities.
